TDS vs Hardness

TDS ≠ Hardness

We have all been there. To measure the hardness of water, we use a TDS meter. Only if it were that simple!

Fact of the matter is, TDS and hardness are two DIFFERENT concepts.

TDS stands for total dissolved solids. This can be anything from dead plant matter to dust or soil in your water. This is easily picked up by a TDS meter, that shows you the reading as ppm (parts per million)

So when you add something like BathEase to your bathing water, the TDS value will increase (this is normal and is expected)

Hardness on the other hand, is generally caused by the presence of two major elements. Calcium and magnesium. BathEase works by binding onto these hardness causing elements and rendering them ineffective.

You can test the before and after hardness values with an industrial grade testing kit like Aquasol or something similar. You should also be able to see how better your soap and shampoo lathers when BathEase Premium Water Softener is dissolved into your bathing water.
